This New Moon also offers intense and powerful healing for women and their feminine ways. Intuition, potential and creation are feminine aspects of leadership. And, the masculine linear skills of logic, purpose and production, require strengthening too in order to manifest a new way of leading.

It’s great because your feelings get involved too. I wonder why you don’t understand my intentions. I’m so misunderstood, so now I get company when you join my club. I thrive on the company.

Star Power:

This month is filled with opportunity. The opportunity is for you to be able to live in your body, in your heart, in your intuitive knowing, guided by your soul versus being in your mind with the games that your mind continues to play.
When Venus enters her retrograde station, it’s the start of a 40-day dose of tough love. She hits you hard in the areas you desire most – success, love and money. She turns your focus inward and shines a great big light into YOU, so you see into every nook and cranny.
With all of your focus on YOU, she wreaks havoc with your ability to attain your desires. Success, love, money seem to leave you.

She expects you to know exactly what your value is without reflection from the outside world.

Venus has the most elegant star cycle that creates a flower.

Q: What can we expect in July? Is it more of June or something different?
A: As we enter July, we have that beautiful continuation of the June energy filled with lots of connections, ideas and fortuitous unexpected news. We’ve got the ability to continue our growth and expansion. Then we get to a point where we reach the middle of July and the energy shifts.
There’s a split in the month – the 1st half and the 2nd half. It’s evident and felt out in the world. During the 1st half of the month, if things have been going smoothly for you, they continue for the 1st 2 weeks. If not, you come to a tightening and it feels like you’re threading the needle. If you typically live on the edge, go into the core with this narrowing. You narrow your focus to optimize and streamline. If you typically hold yourself back, extend yourself to reach for the edges. Take a leap of faith. The stars have been urging you for the last few months. Will you listen? Now is the time for you to take action, because during the 2nd ½ of the month, the action will be done for and to you.
Q: This doesn’t sound pleasant, tell us more about the 2nd ½ of the month.
A: There are 2 reasons for the mid-month energy shift:
July 18th – The nodal points move into new signs as they do every 18 months. This time they move from Taurus and Scorpio into Aries and Libra. The last time they did this was on December 26, 2004.
July 22nd – Venus stations retrograde through September 3rd.
Q: Is the energy shift a big deal this year?
A: It is a big deal due to the squaring of the nodes with Pluto. These are cardinal signs, signaling the beginning of something new and they are at the cusp of the end of each sign. So, it’s a beginning and an ending. The key question for everyone is; “How can relationships, particularly in families, shift their current power structures to be open to something new?”
Additionally, Mars is opposing Saturn adding confinement and road blocks. This will be a very frustrating time. The days of July 18 – 23rd are going to feel heavy, confrontational and may be overwhelming.

On the World Stage
The soul destiny takes a turn and moves from Taurus and enters Aries. The repeating nodes occur every 18 years and not to scare you, but the last time the Aries North node and Libra South node changed was the week of the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

In Evolutionary Astrology, the True node indicates the collective soul destiny and changes every 18 months by going backward through the zodiac. The dragon’s head symbolizes the North node and shows how the collective can heal, thereby relieving its soul karma as indicated by the dragon’s tail or South node.
Moving toward the North node, Aries beginning in mid-July, changes what’s happening in the collective between the prior nodal pairing of Taurus and Scorpio. Throughout 2022, women’s rights (Dobbs), money fluctuations (recession) and climate crises (weather & more than 1.5°C) are the focal points. Beginning in mid-July, the focal points switch to righting the wrongs of inequality, injustice and imbalance in all relationships, including organizations, countries and the world. Libra represents the courts and diplomacy and when in the South node, it’s the negative aspects of each. So, think imbalance in the courts and ineffective diplomacy.
Personally
The tensions between the polar opposites strains the wounding to bring it to the surface for healing. The answers are always in the North node.
This nodal change makes it Mars time once again as the collective soul destiny takes on his energy while leaving the effects of the collective soul karma behind. Throughout 2022 and until July 2023, the world has been dealing with Mars and Pluto as the aggressors for peeking at the uncomfortable and unfamiliar hidden things. Now, it’s time for these things to be seen and felt with courage and bravery. That’s the key – is the world brave enough to face the effects of the hidden agendas, power plays and bad acts? If so, walking toward awakening and honest leadership is available now. If not, there’s dithering, compromise and unhealthy relationships.
It’s time for bravery, leadership and inner authority. It’s time for quiet power and diplomatic solutions. It’s time for charm, grace and elegance while seeking the value in healthy partnership in business, romance and on the political stage. However, the energies burst forth bringing impatience, aggression and violence. The forces seek out the hidden and smother them with platitudes and false promises.
* Note: There are two schools of thought, one speaks to the True Node and the other to the Mean Node. As these are usually separated by a few days, in this case July 12th for the Mean nodal change, using the True Node is more prevalent, so I’m using it here for simplicity.
Q: Now that we’re closer to the date, do you have any further information for us personally?
A: Yes, there’s actually more opposition, more adjustments and more contemplation. There’s a requirement to quiet down, to go deep, to be commanding, and then when we have sudden changes, it may not be as beneficial. It’s like threading the needle. It’s a tightening. It feels like we’re being held back.
My greatest advice to you is to follow your instinct, to gather yourself and to firm up your position. It could still mean spending and investing, but with people you know who are going to be able to deal with disruption, shifts and changes. They can help you stay the course. and help guide you through the next few months.
Q: How long does the shift last?
A: Throughout the rest of August. Now August is the month of tough love. I will get into that much more deeply when we get to August. But for now, suffice it to say that there’s going to be a review for you of your image and your position in the world in every area – style, leadership, finances, connections, relationships, and your home or office. There’s going to be a desire to change. And the desire is a DESIRE. It’s better to wait, plan and take your time to make sure the changes are going to be lasting and not just whimsical and indulgent. You’re not got to be pleased if you make lots of shifts in physical ways during the month of August.
Q: What are the do’s and don’ts for Venus retrograde?
A: In 2023, from July 22- September 3rd, while Venus is retrograde, take the time to review the areas of success, love and money. Venus rules beauty and design too.
Things you do and buy during Venus retrograde may be ones you regret. “What was I thinking?” or “How could I have said that?” or “Why did I think he/she was my perfect mate?” are the questions once Venus stations direct.

Access the possibilities and opportunities that present themselves this week. Brilliance and ingenuity provide solutions to complex issues. Financial advancement is possible through relationships, creativity and originality. Leadership is sought after with integrity, authenticity and decisiveness.
Avoid insecurities and lassitude. If it seems easy and in the flow, it probably is, and this isn’t typical. Surrendering to your intuitive nudges and pursuing sweet satisfaction and pleasure seem like that’ll get you off track. That’s not the case this week.

Big Star Event: June 1stat 8:43 pm ET– Taurus Jupiter conjunct North Node @ 3°
Jupiter touching the North Node brings success and ease to realizing the future. The North node is on its last breath in Taurus, where it’s been since January 18, 2022. The soul destiny of finding simple solutions to complex problems is coming to an end, creating the opportunity for innovative resolutions.
Opposing the collective soul karma in Scorpio, Jupiter stretches the issues of sex, drugs and women’s rights. Complicating this is a power struggle at the top with the confrontation from Mars in Leo. Be mindful of what’s happening on the world stage.
The associations of Taurus are love, money, and the natural world. Results in climate, money and being kinder to each other present themselves. Personally, if you’d like ease, comfort, stability, abundance or outdoor explorations, this transit is for you.
Week 2: June 5th – 11th
Access style, charm and flair. Flirty fun social engagements are aplenty. Your influence increases tenfold this week, personally and professionally. Sales, negotiations, business dealings with fruitful research and successful investigation gain power and impact. Creativity brings success.
Avoid over-indulgence and excessive bad habits. They impress themselves on you, making it difficult to stay on the path for your health. Intimate relationships are in the pressure cooker this week with jealous, manipulative behaviors triggering power plays and control issues.
Tips: Find time for fun. Take time away from work to get sassy and flirty. Go shopping, if it’s within your budget as the deals will be amazing. Do everything business – sell, hire, succeed and then relax with artsy or creative projects.
Big Star Event: June 11th – Pluto reenters Capricorn @ 5:35 am ET
Yet, Pluto doesn’t spark immediate change like Uranus. It’s not a lightning bolt energy, it’s a ‘work-up-to’ energy like Saturn. Think of Pluto dragging the past, traditional power structures for dissolution on the return into Capricorn. This is a backward energy, so what has come up, will be coming down. The months of June – January 2024 mark evidence coming to light about false foundations, untruths and forceful power grabs.
Personally, if you have Capricorn or 10th house stars, you’ll complete the shift, started in 2008, of the changing position in your life. The good news, this isn’t a hard-charging or challenging force. It’s a letting go and ease-filled transformation. The culmination of all of your hard work is here – finally.
Week 3: June 12th – 18th
Access the boost in power to get ahead at work. Problems resolve themselves, great advice appears to optimize your outreach approach, review your finances, and assess your PR and/or social media campaigns. Socializing is fun and connections are easy and affectionate.
Avoid holding too tightly and getting lost in the serious work ahead of you. Heaviness and pessimistic views about how to deal with complex problems seem overwhelming. Problems are big and the path through may be too much for you right now.
Tips: Take each situation on its face and do things one at a time. Looking at the big picture doesn’t help. Be task-oriented and celebrate each accomplishment, even the small ones. Seek trusted advice from someone with authority. Work and play this week. Have fun. Be romantic.
Big Star Event: June 17th Saturn retrograde at 7° Pisces – November 4th at 0° Pisces
Saturn is on the edge of consciousness in Pisces, so when he stations retrograde, he’s asking you how to become the master of your world.

Saturn Rx wants you to review every area of your life, align with your strengths and own your priorities.
Do’s & don’ts for Saturn retrograde include sharpening your goals, understanding your limits and optimizing your processes and not overpromising, taking shortcuts or being too hard on yourself.
To remember how Saturn stationing retrograde in Pisces shows up for you, reflect back to May 1993 – April 1996. This harkens back to the Uranus conjunct Neptune and the start of a 171-year cycle and its corresponding evolution of the future. Many glimpses of the future are available during this period.

Throughout history, astrology has been a useful tool for scientific methods, political strategy, business growth and the pursuit of fame. The earliest Popes used astrology either through other’s interpretations or their own.[1] Scientists such as Hippocrates[2], the Father of Medicine, believed astrology was invaluable to medicine, even teaching astrology to his medical students. He’s quoted as saying, “A physician without the knowledge of astrology has no right to call himself a physician.”
Galileo Galilei was both an astronomer and astrologer, drafting horoscopes[3] for nobility and students and Johannes Kepler, the calculator of planetary motion, was also the official astrologer for the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II[4]. Carl Jung incorporated astrology with his psychological counselling work, calling it ‘synchronicity’ and is quoted as saying, “Your psyche is the breathing of the cosmos.”[5]
A famous astrologer, John Dee[6], counseled Queen Elizabeth I, Theodore Roosevelt hung his horoscope in the Oval Office, Franklin Delano Roosevelt quoted horoscopes and President Reagan used astrology when making decisions[7].
J.P. Morgan is the most recognized businessmen to use astrology, being quoted as saying, “Millionaires don’t use astrologers, billionaires do.”[8] Gloria Vanderbilt, heiress to a huge fortune and successful business woman in her own right, was a keen follower of astrology.[9] According to Fast Company, “astrology has officially infiltrated work culture.”[10]
The former U.S. Secretary of Treasury, Donald Reagan, once said “It’s common knowledge that a large percentage of Wall Street brokers use astrology.”[11]
Angelina Joile uses astrology daily and to make important decisions about movie roles and premiere dates. Cameron Diaz, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, Princess Diana have been avid fans of following astrology for their life and career choices. Beyonce even has a song titled, “Signs”.[12]
According to a 2018 Pew Research poll, about 29% of American adults now believe in astrology. Likewise, the poll found that women are more likely to believe in astrology (37%) than men are (20%).[13]
Astrology in Business
Astrology is important for business because it creates certainty and calm amidst chaos. Astrology helps business leaders with decision making, setting strategy, creating plans and scheduling. It helps inform teams of direction and next steps, as well as gives insight into team strengths, communication abilities and effective skill building methods.
Astrology supports timing and course of action for marketing events, sales promotions and outreach, product launches, travel, staffing, communication and investing or divesting. Astrology increases self-awareness and empathic relations for business owners and their staffs. It’s useful for branding, positioning and informs business modeling for success.
Across the organization, astrology is a useful tool, creating results on the top and bottom lines.
Results based on Astrology in Business
Kim Woods, MBA Business Strategist and Master Astrologer, uses astrology in her own business as well as all of her clients. She and her team of Intuitive Leaders have consulted with over 350 business leaders in either 1:1 customized solutions or in small group programs.
For her own business, everything is based on astrology, from decisions regarding high-level multi-year strategy to timing during the day for reaching out to a prospect or associate. She uses the Sun and its power to leverage each monthly zodiac sign for coordinating launch cycles for seasonal programs and relies on the Moon for timing of the business growth and optimization phases. “All parents should be leaders and all leaders should be parents,” I say a few weeks ago to a group of managers who I am leading through a strategy session.
What? Where did that come from? Although not completely off-topic, it does not directly relate to the discussion at hand. Uh oh. I’ve lost it. Perhaps I am doing too many different things and I have lost my edge. Crap.
So far I have managed to keep the two companies completely separate. So far I have managed to keep my business clients separate from my Men in the Head ® initiative. So far I have not irrevocably let one interfere with the other. So far, man, it must be the heat.
Crap. Crap. Crap.
Well, too bad for me, because I now have to speak to this subject as if I meant to bring it up. I look around the room and notice many eyes on me waiting to see where I am going with this comment. I take a deep breath gathering my thoughts…
“With leadership, you lead a group of people to a common goal with an eye on the long game, but managing the day-to-day details,” I pause, “How many of you are parents?”
I look around the room and see that most of the people have raised their hands. Oh, thank you God, perhaps I have dodged a bullet.
“With parenting, it’s the same thing, but with parenting you have more compassion while with leadership, you have more objectivity. You actually need both for each role, so perhaps the better way to describe it is leadership and parenting share many of the same activities and you need to apply both objectivity and compassion in equal measure.” Oh yeah, that’s what I meant to say.
Thankfully the meeting’s not derailed and we actually accomplish what we set out to do. Phew.
However, on the ride home I start thinking about my comment and I realize while it’s not necessary to have one person be both a parent & a leader, there’s much to be said for looking at parenthood through the leadership lens.
As a leader, you need to be a good role model. As a parent, you are a role model with every look, thought, deed, act, and engagement. Your children are observing and following everything you do – every single day. They watch the way you drive, how you talk on the phone or to your neighbors. They observe how you treat yourself, your friends and your family. They monitor how and what you eat, watch on TV, how much time you are on your laptop or mobile device, and whether you have a beer or glass of wine with dinner. You are modeling everything to your children, every minute of every single day. So, parents as role models – check.
2. Inspiring a Shared Vision
A good leader inspires a shared vision. As parents, we have a vision and sometimes it may be just to get through the day, but most times, it’s to provide a foundation for our children from which to launch their lives. Everyday, we get our children ready for school, drive them to their activities, help them with homework, allow them to spend time with their friends and take them on family vacations. All the while, we are talking to them about making good choices, advising them on navigating the pitfalls of growing up, and motivating them to make the very best lives for themselves. So, parents inspiring a vision – check.
3. Challenging the Process
A good leader takes risks, makes decisions, makes mistakes and then learns from them. Yeah, I think parents have that covered. Who knew there would be so many risks, decisions, or mistakes? Yikes, parenting is not for sissies. I remember one of my friends said to me, “The last day you knew anything for sure was the day before your first child was born.” (Thanks Kathy) She was JUST SO RIGHT. As parents, we make decisions on every single thing from the smallest, should they have a blanket covering them to the largest, where should they go to college and everything in between. I could go on for hours on this one, but I won’t. We all know what we do all day – everyday. So, parents as challengers – check.
4. Enabling Others to Act
A good leader is a mentor, disciplinarian and coach. He or she encourages, motivates, and yet has a strict operational code. Parents provide boundaries for their children while giving them the freedom to live their lives. The limit of the boundaries depends upon their ages and as I say to my two, their attitudes, as does the extent of their freedoms. So, parents as mentors, disciplinarians and coaches – check.
5. Encouraging the Heart
A good leader recognizes and rewards their employees for their efforts and accomplishments. I think parents do this better than most leaders. I especially like it when it involves family time together as a reward instead of a material good, but that’s a personal choice. So, parents recognizing and rewarding their children – check.
One thing is for certain, both leadership and parenting are living breathing things that need to be tended and nurtured every minute of every day. You need compassion and objectivity in equal measure.
For me, I feel that my leadership experience has helped with my parenting. I am more objective and can take a long view on some things that I don’t feel I would be able to do otherwise and that is particularly helpful these days in the tween and teen years. I also would like to think that my parenting experience lends itself to my leadership skills. I think I have more patience and compassion and am more apt to celebrate accomplishments.
However, next time I’m in a strategy meeting and I mention the parallels of parenting and leadership, I will be sure to handle it more elegantly. Yikes, that was a collision I could have done without.
